We had class photos taken today after school, compliments of the generous (and talented) father of one of our students. This is not one of the professional shots—just an iphone on the scene—but we wanted to get an image of our class up while we wait!
This autumn has been so warm, this is the first day were wearing winter coats and hats during outdoor play.

classes have begun!
Classes have begun for The Wooden Button for the third consecutive year. Our classroom has a lot of new toys, wonderful new teachers, and a whole new group of children—some younger siblings of last year's class.

summer watering
School has been out for a couple of weeks, but Wooden Button students and their families are still tending our little garden, watering and weeding daily. The basil sprouts were recently separated and replanted, the dill is growing bushy, the small-leaved thyme plants are slowly spreading across the soil, and of course the sunflowers are shooting up.
The wild flower garden has already had a few blossoms, and lupins, echinacea and lavender have recently joined them.

Wooden Button Garden
We broke ground last week on the Wooden Button garden, and already sprouts are pushing up through the ground.
We planted sunflowers, California poppies, bachelor buttons, bluebells, forget me nots, candy tufts, violets, lobelia, petunias, nasturtiums, begonias and blue flax. We also planted ample plots of basil, English thyme, and dill—in addition to the chives already growing there.
More photos to follow as our garden continues to grow.

Open house for the 2013-14 school year
Well, it's been decided. The Wooden Button will run another preschool class in the 2013-14, for children born between September 2009 – December 2010. To learn more, please attend our evening open house & information session. Meet our teachers, learn about Waldorf education, tour our classroom, and pick up a registration form. Our class size will remain small, so space is limited.
